The Best Travel Essentials & Outfits for Summer

June 21st marked the first official day of summer. Alongside the start of summer, comes the busy travel season. Whether you’re traveling by car to a nearby staycation or a cross country flight, it’s important to be prepared so you have a stress-free trip. But, before you can take off on vacation, you have to get your suitcase packed. When it comes to traveling, there are usually two types of people: under packers and over packers. Unfortunately, I fall into the latter category, but lately I’ve been trying to be more mindful of how much I pack for vacation. For example, my carry-on bag is now a large tote bag. It carries all of my travel essentials, but can also be used as a good beach bag throughout the trip, which saves me room from having to pack yet another bag in my suitcase.

Another helpful tip is to try to invest in premium basics. Premium cotton apparel is comfortable and durable, which is perfect for traveling. For your travel day outfit, an elevated sweat set is the perfect option. It’s an everyday essential that keeps you comfortable, but is also stylish. You’ll look put together enough to arrive at your destination and hit the ground running. A comfy crewneck will keep you warm throughout your trip and the joggers can be reworn for a lazy morning grabbing coffee. By investing in luxury loungewear, it makes it easy to style different items together to maximize your outfits and minimize your suitcase weight.

Whether you plan on getting active with your family or relaxing by the beach, a muscle tee is another great choice. It’s breathable and easy to throw on as activewear for a yoga class, or even as a quick bathing suit coverup. Plus a muscle tee is definitely a sustainable basic that you can continue to wear at home even after your vacation.

For a more day to day look, a short sleeve crew t-shirt is a reliable choice. It’s definitely a modern essential that every woman should have in their closet as it can easily be paired with any bottom for a complete look. The short sleeve crew could be worn with your joggers for a late morning coffee run, or even tucked into jeans and heels for a more elevated dinner outfit. You could also pack one or two statement pieces that could mix with all of the elevated casualwear you have for a varied outfit.

After a peaceful vacation, the last thing you want to be doing is laundry and unpacking. But luckily, with your capsule wardrobe basics, you were able to minimize the amount of clothes you brought along, and thus now have a smaller amount of unpacking to do!
